Global Switch customers will now have access via Time’s A-Grid Network traversing Malaysia to Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam

Singapore, 09 July 2024 – Global Switch, a leading owner, operator and developer of large-scale, carrier and cloud-neutral data centres in Asia-Pacific and Europe, is pleased to announce a strategic co-operation with TIME dotCom Berhad (Time), a leading telecommunications service provider in Malaysia and a key player in the Southeast Asian region. This strategic co-operation will empower enterprise, hyper-scale and generative AI customers looking for seamless connectivity in the Southeast Asian region, thereby expanding their reach and potential.

Global Switch 2 Tai Seng is a point of presence for Time’s Cross Peninsular Cable System (CPCS) and ASEAN-Grid (A-Grid) network that connects Singapore and Malaysia to Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam. Time’s CPCS and A-Grid networks, spanning over 4,000 kilometres across five countries, are a testament to their commitment to providing high-capacity, resilient, and low-latency connections. This, coupled with Global Switch Tai Seng’s connectivity ecosystem, a world-class interconnection hub with direct access to multiple submarine cable systems, major international and local telecommunications companies, internet exchanges and cloud on ramps, will assure customers of Global Switch the ability to meet the growing demand for data exchange and digital trade in the region.

Global Switch’s Managing Director for Singapore, Terrence Teo said, “We are delighted to collaborate with Time to improve the connectivity landscape in the region. Our data centre’s strategic location and robust connectivity ecosystem, supported by diverse infrastructure, make it an ideal primary gateway for international connectivity. By hosting Time’s CPCS point of presence in our Tai Seng data centre, we will further enhance Singapore’s position as a connectivity hub, enabling all other data centre customers and cable landing stations in Singapore as an alternative option to connect directly to data centres in Malaysia and Thailand.”

Time’s EVP of Wholesale, Ganesh Sivasamboo commented, “We are confident that this collaboration, with our combined expertise and infrastructure, will deliver unparalleled connectivity solutions to customers, including hyper-scalers, enterprises and generative AI companies looking to expand in Southeast Asia. Time’s presence in strategic cities has uniquely positioned our A-Grid network as a bridge into the region via a secure and high availability network for seamless interconnectivity and a scalable network design to cater to evolving business needs.”
